 Post subject: VSS Import Error

I am trying to import VSS data into SCM Anywhere standalone.

I keep receiving this error:

Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID [unique identifier] failed due to the following error: 80040154 at COM.Dynamsoft.SCM.VSSImport.x7de5336cb158d60()

Any ideas?

Hi,

To better pinpoint the cause of the issue, would you please provide us the following info:

1. Did you install SourceSafe on that machine?
2. Did you get the error right after you launched VSS Import Tool?
3. Would you please let us know the detailed information of your operating system?

1. SourceSafe is installed on the machine but the database i am trying to import is on a separate machine. I get the same error whenever i copy the database to the machine with the import tool.

2. The error occurs after i select the srcsafe.ini file and the import process begins.

3. Operating System is Windows Server 2003 R2.

Hi,

Please double check that VSS API is registered properly on that machine. You can go to the folder with "ssapi.dll" and re-register it using command "regsvr32 ssapi.dll" to see if it helps. If this doesn't work, you can try re-installing VSS.

Thanks for the help. The "regsvr32 ssapi.dll" did the trick.
