Hi,

I ran the Analyze utility, ran this from my workstation, the vss database is on the network. I got a lot of "disk full" errors, maybe it had to do with the network admin limiting the amount of space I had access on the network. After it was done, now vss only has the root "\" and all my projects are gone.

The network admin has backup of the directories and the database. Now I need to restore from backup.

What files do I need to restore?

Should I do the entire directory of VSS? some files? I read somewhere that it was not recommended to restore over an existing installation? Is this correct?

Thanks.

Using VSS 8.0.50727.42

Hi royguti,

You can create a new VSS database and restore the entire directory to it.

You can check out the following article on steps of restoring VSS database:

Hope it helps.

Regards,
