Hi,
Just wanted to know, if there is way to freeze checkins at the time of deployment. Reason being, the build is failing due to some people who checks in aspx and forget to check in class file... any help appreciated.

Hi,

To achieve this, you can change the permission of VSS users to read-only before deployment. You can log into Microsoft Visual SourceSafe Administrator, hightlight the user and go to "Tools -> Rights by Project" to change the user permission for a specific project.

Thanks.

Thanks a lot! Can we do this for a list of users?

Hi,

It seems that VSS doesn't support this feature. You need to change the permissions for VSS users one by one.

Thanks. I selected the project and selected a user and changed his permissions to read-only. But still that user can checkout and checkin the files. what else should be done to achieve this? all the users are logged in.

You need to let the users re-login to make the new permission settings apply.
