We have the following folder structure in VSS.


I am trying to create a branch at "Code" folder and call it "branch centera".

So I right click on the "Code" folder and select "Share" and also check the "Recursive" checkbox. When I click on ok it gives me the following error "A project cannot be shared under a descendent".

Please let me know how to do this.

Hi,

You will get the error message if you attempt to create a branch of a project in a subproject of that project. This is not allowed in VSS. Please branch the project to another folder to see how it works.

Can you please let me know branch the project to another folder. It does not ask me the name of the folder where I can branch it to.
