Hi there.

I've just recently started using SA for VSS. I have set-up the server and successfully added a project to the VSS DB from my own client machine.
I have also set-up a client on a customer's machine that I remote desktop onto and wish to add a project from there. However when I try to add a folder from the SA client, the directory structure is added (i.e. the folders and sub-folders) but no files are added. The error "Socket error occurred". When I try and add a file only (e.g. a small file such as a .sln file) the same error is shown.

The connection should be a stable one and I have tried refreshing the project first.

Please advise.

Regards,
Daire Cunningham

Hi Daire,

We just released SourceAnywhere for VSS 5.4. The server logging is improved in the new version. Would you please upgrade to v5.4 and try again? If the error persists, please let us know the detailed error information in the server log.

The log file can be found at the installation folder of SourceAnywhere for VSS Server.

The latest version of SourceAnywhere for VSS can be downloaded at:
http://www.dynamsoft.com/Downloads/SAW_TryIt.aspx

For info on how to upgrade to SourceAnywhere for VSS 5.4, please refer to:

Thanks.

I have upgraded both the client and server to version 5.4 and the error on both the client and in the server log now reads:

Receive file Failed "Error at recv(): An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."

Please advise.

regards,
Daire

Hi Daire,

According to the error message, it should be a network issue. Please double check your network connection.

If you cannot get it to work, please schedule a GoToMeeting with us via Live Help:
http://www.dynamsoft.com/Support/LiveHelp.aspx

Thanks.
