I created a custom field in project A, and i would now like to reuse that field (and notably, its dozens of AllowedValues) in project B. Is there a way of single-sourcing the AllowedValues for this field in both projects?

Currently if you want to reuse a field (together with its allowed values) in project B which was created in project A, you will need to use project A as a template for project B. Otherwise, you need to add the allowed values for the field again in project B.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I have forwarded this feature to our R&D team for their consideration in next release of the product. I'll keep you updated on this.

Regards,

Thanks, Catherine. I did try that, but the values didn't propagate to the template. Perhaps there's some setting I need to flip to make them persist?

Hi jherman,

There isn't a special setting for this. Did you follow the below steps?

1. Create a customer field in project A and put in the allowed values.
2. On the Project Setting page, press "Save as New Template", say Project Template "A_template".
3. Create a new project B based on the template "A_template".

Ah, my bad. I was looking at the field in the wrong Issue type. The values migrated nicely. Thanks for your help.
