Hi

Since two weeks we have the following error in the log file.

SAWV Service Failed Unspecified error occured in processing thread.

Does anyone know this error message and can say me what the problem is? I hope ... :)

We use SAW 5.2 and this error occures if our colleagues in Singapure want to get a project. The network connection between our location in Singapure and Switzerland is a 4Mbit/s link.

Thank you and regards ...

This error means the SourceAnywhere for VSS Server fails to process the request of the Client.

Please run the VSS analyze tool to check if your VSS DB is healthy.

To better pinpoint the cause, can you provide us the following information?
1. Is there any error message in the SourceAnywhere for VSS Client?
2. What version and build of VSS do you use?
3. Do you use SourceAnywhere for VSS Cache Server?
4. Which port do you use to connect?
5. Can you get files successfully with this error?
6. How many files were you getting when you got the error?
7. Do you enable the delta transfer and compression options?

Thanks.

Thank you for the hints. I will first check if our VSS database is healthy.

The database seems to be healthy.

1. Is there any error message in the SourceAnywhere for VSS Client?
- We use the SDK of SourceAnywhere. We have an one "Get" tool.

2. What version and build of VSS do you use?
- 6.0d (build 31222)

3. Do you use SourceAnywhere for VSS Cache Server?
- We don't have a VSS Cache Server.

4. Which port do you use to connect?
- Port: 8877

5. Can you get files successfully with this error?
- No. The get operation paused/stopped. After a restart of the "SAWV Service" the get operation continued.

6. How many files were you getting when you got the error?
- Around 4500 files.

7. Do you enable the delta transfer and compression options?
- I don't know. I will check this.

I've done some additional tests:

We have the same problem with the SourceAnywhere Client.
This error occur only with six projects. They are on two VSS databases.

1.
We get the error if we want to get a labelled state (latest label) of this project. But if we get the latest version, we don't have this error.

2.
In other projects we can get older labels but not the newer ones.

Thanks a lot.

Tomorrow I will update our SourceAnywhere server to the version 5.3. Maybe this will help ...

Our server is updated to version 5.3. But the error is still there.

Maybe we have found the solutions. If the last entry in the history of a project is called "Deleted" you will get this error.

Solution: If I create a new label I don't have this error. :)

Thank you for your information.

We tried to reproduce the issue with no luck. Can you send a screenshot showing history information of the project with problem to sawvss@dynamsoft.com so that we can better pinpoint the cause of the issue?

Thanks.
