Can you be a bit more specific? I need to know what we stand to gain by upgrading vs the pain of getting the client rolled out. Or is it necessary to upgrade only the server and proxy cache?

In this new version, there is performance improvement on all the operations that transfer files from the server and list project trees.

We made changes on the server, cache server and client sides in this version. We recommend you upgrade all the components.

Thanks.

We have particular issues with enumerating the files in projects/folders that contain many ( ~1000) files. To date we have had to force users to manually refresh to avoid them sitting around for 20 minutes whenever they select a large project in the GUI.

Will this release address this problem? What kind of performance gain are we talking about? More importantly, have you fixed the otherproblem whereby a project refresh goes straight through the proxy and hammers the main SAW server

Sorry to nag, but I need details. SAW performs perfectly well for us already with this workaround, so I am not upgrading unless there's a compelling reason.

Stephen

All the major operations are optimized. The project-refresh functionality is in the improved features list. In your case, we suggest you do the upgrade.

Since the current performance of SourceAnywhere for VSS is enough for you, you can also keep your current version.

Thanks.
