Hi,

Turns out that somehow Source Anywhere Server is able to lock SourceSafe's rights.dat file. This is not noticed in the Server. However the SAW clients experience problems when connecting to the database.

Eventually, regular Sourcesafe users (not using SAW) experience a problem with the specific database as they receive the message from source safe about the rights.dat file already being in use.

The problem is resolved after stopping and restarting the SAW Server.
We are using SAW 5.3.2 and plannig to upgrade.

- Is there a way for the client application to notice the occurence of this locking
- Is there a way to prevent SAW from locking this file, or is it able to release this file as next to SAW clients also source safe users experience problems.
- Is this resolved in the next version?

SourceAnywhere for VSS Server does not lock rights.dat. This is the first time we receive this report.

To better pinpoint the cause of your issue, would you please let me know the exact error message you got? You may send the screenshot of the error to sawvss@dynamsoft.com.
