Hi,

I'm observing the following problem with the java command line client ver. 5.3, using java jre 1.5.0_01 on a Fedora6 machine:

Whenever I run saw in a way like
java -jar ...SAWVCmd.jar GetProject -server ... -port 8878 -username ... -alias ... -pwd ... -prj $/... -r -unix -time modi -replace

from the commandline, it works fine.

If I do the same in a cronjob (every day, ever 5 mins, ...) it hangs in about one out of 4 times. In this cases the CPU usage also rises to 100% and the only way is to kill the process with -9.

Is this a known issue to you?

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi Catherine,

unfortunately this will not work since the machine where this happens is a server where I only have ssh access and cannot share any kind of desktop.
But I found out a workaround:
If I start the java runtime with debugging options, e.g.:
java -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8123,server=y,suspend=n -jar SawCmd.jar

The problem not longer exists.

So far I can live with this workaround.

Kind regards,
Alex.
