Hello Catherine and robert, hello everybody,

Happy new year 2009 !
For this new year, I come with new feature request (after the modifications in 2008 to support Cruise Control .net) !

I am developping a new internal tool to refresh databases with latest packages views and triggers. I just need to refresh the objects that developpers are not currently working on else I will refresh database's objects that were in testing phase and not yet checkedin in Saw.

So my question was : how to retrieve only the files that are not checked-out ? Apparently, there's no way currently making this.

Could you please add it as an optionnal argument ("filestatus"= checkedin/checkedout) to SAW Command line client ?

Thanks for your answer!

Best regards.

Hi Yannick,

Happy New Year!

Technically, it is not very difficult to add such an option. But I am wondering how useful this feature is.

If someone has not checked in his/her changes, the changes should be still on his/her disk and not in the version control repository. So it should not have any problems to retrieve those files. Also, if you do not retrieve the files that are in the check out status, you may break the build. Consider this: you retrieved the files yesterday. Developer A changed one feature and checked in the file this morning. He checked out the file again to work on another feature. If you do not retrieve that file tonight, you are not working on the latest version.

Please let me know what you think.
