Hi Everyone!

I am new to this forum...
Have a question regarding VSS 2005...

We have vss 2005 installed.

There are many users configured in it....
Yesterday I noticed that VSS admin dont have access on files and folder but user can view all files and folder if they have permission...
We are able to grant permission using Admin user...but the Admin user itself dont have access on any file and fodler in VSS!

Is there any solution of this problem?

Help in this regard will be highly appreciated!

Hi Abbas,

Would you please let me know the following info?

1. Did you get any error messages when you try to access files/folders using the Admin user?
2. If you checked "Use network name for automatic user log in" in SourceSafe Administrator Tools->Options, please make sure the current logon user has proper permissions on the VSS database folder.
3. Did you try analyzing the VSS database to check its health?
4. Does the issue happen only on a specific VSS database or on all the database?
