Hello,
I am posting here since I've found already in the forum a possibile solution to this problem, but unfortunalty did not fix .

Product : SA for VSS 5.3.1
Database : VSS 6

When I try to get some source file I get the error :
SourceSafe was unable to finish writing a file. Check your available disk space, and ask the administrator to analyze your SourceSafe database.

This kind of problem is very similar to this case (Can't get label version)
http://forums.dynamsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1528

The last message suggested to upgrade , but I have an higher version yet.

Disk space : verified OK
User to run the service and rights on the temp folder : verified OK
Database VSS analyze : it actually found probably errors on 4 files
Unable to read the format or header.
I have launched the ANALYZE tool using the -F option, but it seems not to resolve. Must be said that another remote source control get them with no problem.

Once I set a new label for the files I want to get, then SA is fine to get them, but if I try to set the label to the project or a sub-folder, it has no effect ( still get the same error while getting the files )

Is there a way I can avoid to set all the label to each file, in order to get them ?

I thank you in advance for any suggestion. My best regards

The related thread mentioned SourceAnywhere for VSS 5.1 fixed the ?version not found???issue. It is different from your issue.

Please install the VSS 6.0 Service Pack 6 and try again.

If the issue persists, please let us know.

Thanks.

Hello,
after few days of use, and putting the labels where 'unreadable', I would say all is running fine ; I think probably the problem comes out from our VSS database and the fact the Analyzer tool did not fix the few problems found.

If you have any comment it is very welcome, if you prefer to close the topic I think it is fixed on our side. THanks a lot, bets regards
