I recently Added,Moved, and Delete a bunch of projects to/from SourceAnywhere. This process expanded my .MDF quite a bit.

I'd like to shrink it back down so my backups (etc) don't take so long.

Do you have any procedures to run that would clean up the SourceAnywhere database before I run the SQLServer Packs.

Hi isgdre,

There are two levels of deletion in SourceAnywhere Standalone: Delete and Destroy Permanently. You can purge your deleted files to release more database space. Detailed info can be found here.

Also, you can use the Shrink function in SQL Server Management Studio to shrink SourceAnywhere database. More info:

Best Regards.

Ok, Thanks.

I did do the Destroy Permanently on the big projects I deleted. But with thousands of sub projects I was hoping to not have to go through them one by one.

I mean of course I'm not going to. was just hoping for a better way.

Thanks again.

You can use SourceAnywhere Standalone SDK to purge the deleted items automatically. Below are the download links:
COM SDK V3.0
Java SDK V3.0

Here is the steps for your reference:
1. Use the ISAWSDeletedItemGeneralInfo Interface to get the ItemName of your deleted item.
2. Use the full name of deleted item (i.e. ItemName) you get plus the PurgeItems Method, you can write a procedure to purge all the deleted items.

Detailed info can be found in the help document of SourceAnywhere Standalone SDK.

Best Regards.
