I have just started using SourceAnywhere. I am evaluating the features. In order to prevent VS.NET 2003 from putting a virtual directory under \Inetpub\wwwroot, one thing that we do at our company when we use File | Source Control | 'Open from Source Control' with VS.NET 2003 and VSS is we create the virtual directory and file path beforehand and then use 'Open from Source Control'. That way all of the files are placed in the folder that we specify.

I tried to do the same thing with SAW. I created the filepath and virtual directory. Then I used 'Open From Source control' The dialog box came up that showed that my project would go to http://localhost/<VirDirName> yet the files still went to a folder under \inetpub\wwwroot. The files should go to whatever path the virtual directory is set to.

Please advise.
Thank you,
Robert

Hi RobertL,

Our test team has confirmed that using SAW the project also goes to where the virtual directory is set to, which behaves the same as VSS.

Are you sure you followed the exactly the same procedure as you did with VSS?

We suggest you use our LiveHelp at http://www.dynamsoft.com to chat with one of our technical representatives, so that we could look into your issue more closely and help you solve it in real time.

Thank you.

Catherine,

I will run my scenario once more to make sure I did things correctly. If I have trouble, I will use LiveChat. Thanks.

Catherine,

I had the virtual directory spelled wrong. Open from SourceControl worked great!!!

Clearly SourceAnywhere is an AWESOME product. I am a LAME user.

Everything so far is working well. My client LOVES SourceAnywhere. They will be purchasing it on my recommendation. In addition, we will purchasing SourceAnywhere for our shop.

Thanks,
Robert
