On many occasions we lose the link icon (e.g. lock or key symbol) to an object in an MS ACCESS database. This could be a form or module object.

Sometimes I can get the link icon to reappear by executing Tools/SCM Anywhere Standalone/Get Latest Version and then selecting all of the objects.

Sometimes I can get the link icon to reappear by closing the MS ACCESS database and reopening it. Then I get a message that the checked out status of the MS ACCESS objects are not the same as SCM Anywhere.

Sometimes I can NOT the link icon to reappear. When this occurs I am forced to rebuild the MS ACCESS database from SCM Anywhere. There must be some way to recover lost links without having to rebuild the MS ACCESS database.

Hi lehmanra,

Would you please let us know which version of Access you are using? To better pinpoint the cause of the problem, please download and install DebugView, start the tool before you open the solution under SCM Anywhere Standalone and send the log file generated by DebugView to scmsupport@dynamsoft.com. We'll check it for you.

This occurs using MS ACCESS 2002 on Windows XP and MS ACCESS 2003 on Windows 7

Hi lehmanra,

Thanks for your information. Did you try DebugView to get more information? If no, please try the tool and then send the log file to scmsupport@dynamsoft.com so that we can look into this issue more closely.

Catherine,

I have not had time to attempt this test. I will try and schedule it between my regular work tasks.
