I like VSS Keyword Expansion, and have it turned on on my server.
And I have been given some code (from another group) with VSS Keywords in.
However, I want to temporarily turn the Keyword Expansion OFF while I check-in this code (ideally, just turn it off for this one project).
What's the easiest/safest way to do this?
I'm using VSS 6.0d.
Thanks.

Hi,

You may add some characters between $ and the keyword name so VSS won’t recognize it.

For example, you can change the keyword “$Revision: $” to be “$//Revision: $”.

You can modify it back when you want to turn on the keyword expansion for the code.

Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion Catherine, but your solution defeats the purpose.
The purpose is to check-in the supplied code unchanged, so when I'm sent a later version of the same code I can do a directory-compare to see which files have been altered.

Hi,

Do you mean you want to turn off keyword expansion in the situations that you check in a file unchanged? If so, you can specify Undo Check Out for the Check in unchanged files option at Tools->Options->General tab. So the check-in won’t create a new version.

Thanks.
