To change source control provider in Visual Studio 2005/2008/2010, you need to follow the steps below:

1. Open the solution.
2. Go to Visual Studio File| Source Control| Change Source Control and unbind the solution with the current source control provider.
3. Change Source control provider at Visual Studio Tools| Options| Source Control.
4. Add solution into source control. Or go to Visual Studio File| Source Control| Change Source Control and bind the solution with the new source control provider.

If you change the source control provider directly through Visual Studio Tools| Options| Source Control without unbinding with the current source control provider, you will get the following warning dialog:
