I work both at company and home, or maybe other places too. I might work on lots of projects from multiple workstations.
When I try to checkout a project on a second workstation, VSS 2005 gives me a “You currently have file checked out” warning.
Do I have to create a different user for each workstation?

It is not necessary to create a different user for each workstation. I advise you to check in the project each time you finish the development in one workstation.
