Hello,

I'd like to know if there a way to "Get Version from" a given date instead of the "Get latest version"
The idea is return back in time to a previous state of the visual studio's entire solution --say "Get 20 June's version"
Is this possible? how can i do this ?

Thanks for replies
Regards

Yes. This is supported by SCM Anywhere Standalone. To do this, you can follow the steps below:

1. Go to Visual Studio -> View -> SCM Anywhere Standalone Window -> Source Control Explorer.
2. In the source control explorer, right-click the selected solution and choose Show History.
3. In History Options, filter the date in the Dates tab.
4. After clicking OK, you'll get the history explorer. Now choose the specific historic version and click Get to download it.

I followed the steps from above (thanks again) but that only got me the single top file .sln downgraded to the seleted version instead of the entire folder.

Is there a way to "Get a version" from a given date recusively ?
(our visual studio solution counts more than 4000 files)

Thanks in advance
Regards

Yes. After clicking Get on a selected historic version, you can check the Recursive option in the Get dialog box to get the whole solution.

Please tell me if you have any further questions.

I managed to make this work recursively thanks to your guidance.
Thanks a lot!

Here is how i did:
1. open the SCM Standalone application (outside visual studio)
2. Log to account
3. Select the top folder of the solution and right click
4. Click to "Show History" on the context menu
There appears a new window
5. Select "View history by changeset" then click OK
Another window appears
6. Select the line with the changeset from the date you want to get
7. Click GET
The GET dialog box appears with the "Recursive" Option
8. Check "Recursive" and click OK
(Replace any local file during the download process)
9. Reopen Visual Studio... and show a smile

Hi in here again. I'm delighted to track a cell phone see the step-by-step instructions, since i have never experienced troubles with Visual Studio before.
