We are continually having problems, where we edit files and later on notice that they are not in the Pending Checkins list.
When we notice this, we have to do a Version compare, make a note of the files that are different and then manually check out each file not in the Checkin list, taking care not to overwrite the local copy as we do so.
Once we have got all the changed files into the checkin list, then we can update to the Repository.

Can we have some easy way of checking that the local changed files are actually checked out, preferably with a dialogue that easily allows us to select the missing files, so that they can be added into the Pending Checkin list.

Alternatively, can somebody point out the blindingly obvious procedure that I am missing.


Forgot to mention earlier, that we are using SourceAnywhere Standalone add-in 3.0 for Visual Studio 2010 on WIndows 7 64 bit

Please check the following 2 things:

1. In Visual Studio, please go to Tools->Options->Source Control->Environment, for item Checked-in item behaviour On Edit, please choose “Check out automatically”.

2. Also, in Plug-in Settings tab, click Advanced button and go to Files tab, make sure “Use read only flag on files that are not checked out” is enabled there.

I have checked and the settings are already as above.

The reason that we haven't raised this as a serious issue before, is that most files are checked out in the normal way, so it is only when you go into the Repository and do a 'Show Differences', that it flags there are additional changed files to what is in the CheckIn list.
