Post subject: Eclipse Plug-in. Get Local files.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 13, 2006 12:22 pm
Thank you, thank you thank you for finally releasing the eclipse plug-in. This is going to be huge for our organization.

I have one question, how do you get a copy of ALL the local files for a project with the plug-in?

I was able to use the Sourceanywhere interface and get the local files, but I do not see a way to do so in the eclipse plug-in. Am I missing it? Or is this just a future enhancement to the plug-in?

Thanks again,

Tim

Thank you for your post. :)

The possible cause of this issue is that the files do not exist in your local folder. In Eclipse plug-in, the Get operation can not be done on a file that does not exist in the local folder. Would you please check if this is the issue?

To work around it, you can get files to your local folder through the SourceAnyWhere JAVA GUI Client first.

We appreciate your feedback. We will further look into this issue and consider improving it in a future release.

I encountered the same problem: Getting the latest version of a file that already exists locally works fine, but if someone adds a new file to the repository you won't get it unless you use the stand-alone client. Especially, if you are working in a distributed team of developers using two SCM-applications is a little bothering. Thus, it would be nice to have a new or modified function in the next version of the plugin that fetches changes to already existing files as well as any new file that has recently been added to the repository.

I was even able to check out the whole project down from the root with the Eclipse Plugin. Though you have to activate the "Act on projects recursively" switch in the Eclipse-Preferences/Team/Dynamsoft... Menu.

Maybe you give this a try.
