I have 2 version of a python file (file extension is .py) in SourceAnywhere (SA). When I diff the two versions, it comes back and says they are different, as if it thinks they were binary files. Is there something special I have to do for .py files to be recognized as text so it would give me diffs and, more important, would store just delta values and not the entire file for each version?

I am using the SA add-on to Eclipse for check-in/out, if that matters.

You can change the file type to be non-binary /text in the File Property dialog box by right-clicking the file->Properties->General tab in SourceSafe to make SourceAnywhere for VSS recognize the files as text.

Thank you for the reply, Catherine. I was able to do as suggested and it worked.

This completes my testing of the product. We will start using it now. I hope to write about the service on my blog in the next week or so and will send you a link when it is done.
