Is the licensing for SAW for Concurrent users? Or number of users added to the databases/repositories?

Say I buy a one user license. Can I actually add more than one user with different permissions? And as long as those users arent connected at the same time, still be able to use whichever one I want?

Possibly have one user called Developer. Give that user access to make all the changes to code.

The have another user called Deploy that would be able to go back and and deploy the code to an FTP site after it has been checked. This way the developer couldnt accidentally deploy.

SourceAnywhere Standalone is licensed on a per user basis, not by concurrent users. Each active user will be bound to a license. For your case, you will need 2 licenses.

And about Deploy, users with Read permission can deploy a project. So the developer working on the code would be able to do Deploy.

Maybe you can create two folders on the FTP site, e.g., test and release. The Developer deploys the code to "test". After you verified everything is fine, you can then copy the content to "release" folder.

Regards.

Actually don't you mean three (3) licenses as Admin consumes one.

Yes, admin takes a license too. However, if you like, you can assign "Deploy" to admin group and deactivate "admin". more details

Hey! that's GREAT!!!

Do you have a set of instructions that work for a 1 user License too?

I.e. the current instructions say you have to create the other account first, witch of course you can't create active so you can't login as that id.

Hi isgdre,

You can follow the steps below with 1 user license:

1. Log in SourceAnywhere Standalone Server Manager using "admin".
2. Go to SourceAnywhere-> Users, double click "Admin" and uncheck "User is active" in Edit User dialog. Click OK.
3. Create your user name by clicking Add button in Users page. Make sure you assign it to Administrators group.
4. Then you can use the new user to mange your SourceAnywhere settings and perform source control operations.

Note: please do not exit Server Manager after you deactivate admin and before you create the new admin user.

Regards,
